Political Junkie Ken Rudin speaks with NPR Senior Washington Editor Ron Elving about the winners and losers in the government shutdown crisis, the race for governor of Virginia and the civility of former House Speaker Tom Foley, who died last week. Also joining the conversation is Newark Star Ledger columnist Paul Mulshine on New Jersey’s Chris Christie and Cory Booker.
Episode #1: The Political Junkie is Back, and It’s All Politics.

I hope I’m the first to post a comment! Thank the Gods you’re back! Good Luck Ken.
~~I’m listening, reading and guessing, Audrey
Congratulations, Ken, great that you’re back! Missed you very much. Is it possible to download the podcast to listen via IPod? All the best, Alexander, Political Junkie from Germany
I wasn’t sure how long I could live without Political Junkie. But like the McRib, you’ve suddenly reappeared. My week is whole again. I’m not sure where I’m going with this, but so glad you’re back.
This political junkie is so glad to have THE Political Junkie back!
Any idea when the RSS feed will be up, so I can add this to my podcatcher?
Hallelujah!!!
Ken, so good to hear you and Ron. Looking forward to more Political Junkie!
So glad you are back! I felt lost without my weekly fix of Ken Rudin. Really. And I’m sure I was not alone in that feeling. — Rivka
Welcome back, Ken!
Well , Ken, you left us hanging with the Scuttlebutton “Starr ship Enter prize”; will you return with few buttons to “Beam me up Scotty” [apparently a phrase never found in any script for Star Trek] ? Or will you go where no commentator has gone before and continue to regale us with the foibles of elected officials?
We are all thrilled to have the Junkie return, and I will be pestering my local station tomorrow.
Smartest thing I did was start following Ken on Twitter-then I knew right away where to tune in! So glad you’ve got this going!
Thank you for making France once again understand what is actually happening in US Politics. We were getting desparate! Hope we can find you here for a long time.
Fantastic to see you guys back, I could not help to whistle the theme to Magnificent Seven.
So very happy to get my PJ fix! And Ken, regardless of whether Ron will be available for every ep, I’m really glad that you got him to break a bottle of champagne over your head. His gravitas perfectly balances your…levitas? Now, if only you could find a way to sneak in the gleeful Neal Conan…
