I’m using my emergency powers here to declare that we’ve gone too long without a new ScuttleButton puzzle and thus it’s time for a new one.
How to Play
ScuttleButton, as you may know, is that weekly waste-of-time exercise where we post a vertical sequence of campaign buttons. Your job is to take one word (or concept) per button and add ’em up to arrive at a famous name or familiar expression. Guess the correct phrase and you could be the proud winner of the coveted Political Junkie button!
Enter your submission using the convenient submission form below, or email your submission to scuttlebutton@krpoliticaljunkie.com. You must include your name and city/state to be eligible.
Show/Hide This Week's ScuttleButton Answer
John Kerry/The Real Deal/2004 — The Democratic nominee against President George W. Bush.
Housewives for Howard — Jim Howard was a Democratic member of the House from New Jersey, first elected in 1964, and served until his death in 1988.
I [heart] my SUV — Good for you.
Beverly Sills is a good high. — A button from the early 1970s, she was an American soprano who died in 2007.
Hill + Tim 2016 — The Democratic presidential ticket of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine. (Two buttons side by side always means we’re looking for a plural answer.)
So, when you combine The Real + Housewives + Suv [isn’t that what SUV spells?] + Beverly + Hills, you kinda get …
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. A TV program that I understand some people actually watch.
And the randomly selected winner is … Ann Fisher of Columbus, Ohio. The fact that Ann is the host of WOSU’s “All Sides with Ann Fisher” DID NOT FACTOR INTO HER WINNING THIS WEEK’S CONTEST!! Ann wins the coveted Political Junkie button.
