They may shut down the government, but they’ll never shut down ScuttleButton … unless they pry my cold, dead fingers from around it.
How to Play
ScuttleButton, as you may know, is that weekly waste-of-time exercise where we post a vertical sequence of campaign buttons. Your job is to take one word (or concept) per button and add ’em up to arrive at a famous name or familiar expression. Guess the correct phrase and you could be the proud winner of the coveted Political Junkie button!
Enter your submission using the convenient submission form below, or email your submission to scuttlebutton@krpoliticaljunkie.com. You must include your name and city/state to be eligible.
Show/Hide This Week's ScuttleButton Answer
I’m a Bruno Fan — Bruno Sammartino was the World Wide Wrestling Federation champion through much of the 1960s and ’70s.
Tom Fink for Governor — An Alaska Republican, Fink lost the 1982 election to Democrat Bill Sheffield.
Jennings for Governor? Uff Da! — How many times are we going to use this Minnesota button?
Oprah for President 2020 — A chicken in every pot, a car to everyone in the audience!
So, when you combine Fan + Tom + Uff Da + Oprah, you kinda get …
Phantom of the Opera. The 1905 novel that has since been brought to the stage and movie screen.
And the randomly selected winner is … Philip Dooher of Needham, Mass. Philip wins the coveted Political Junkie button.
